For Richard ( Mainlyirish)
Thinking of my friend Richard still brings me a lot of sadness. But there are also so many memories that bring a smile on my face. I try to think back just of the times when we were laughing together. And i want to share some of them. Richard was my close friend over many years. During my first years in paltalk i spent alot of time in his room. This room was open every day and had some special rules. For example no "hands", so it should be like a sit around, playing, singing, talking. And it had to be live, no backtracks, that was very important. One day Richard had to go and left the admin hat and code to me and our friend Barb, so the room could stay open. Once he was out, Barb and me were thinking about how we could have a maximum of fun. So we got the idea to leave and come back with new nicks, both were "Mainlyirish" just a slightly different spelling. After that was done we started inviting kareoke singers in the room, welcomed them nicely, encouraged them to sing and to invite their friends, the worse the better. Yes, we were bad, I know. After a while Richard came back, i still laugh so hard, when i think of his reaction when he realized what was going on. He laughed with us and showed alot of humour and forgave us. The next days kareokees kept on showing up in his room, raising hands and Richard had such a hard job explaining them nicely that they are in a wrong room:o) When i was singing lately in the live music room " Vincent, Starry Starry Night.." another memory came up. When i learned that song , I proudly showed it to Richard. Unfortunately we Germans easily use to mix up the pronouncing of " V" and "W". And me especially. So he explained:" it has to be VVVVVVVincent and not Wincent. And there is no word in english that is pronounced clotheeesssss the "ES" is silent!". Whenever i sang it he stopped me "ANNAH ITS VVVVVVVINCENT!!" or at least typed it in roomtext ( usually when it was too late to correct it) So by now i learned it. Thank you Richard :-) Without you i would sing Wincent till the end of my days. I wish he knew how much his friendship meant to me. from Annah (Tinkerbell) |
