Zack Taylor,
I only ever knew Zack as this awesome guitar player so good he knew your song before you knew it. He was the guitar player at Bobby’s Idle hour when Mike Mayo was the host. He would fill or play with anyone who wanted a back up or a freekin awesome guitar lead or solo. HE WAS THE MAN.

He was naturally intuitive about music. He was humble about it. And always smiling. He would drink v-8 I think. I didn’t realize how young he was I guess life had worn hard on him. He was one of the best. He was always nice to me. always had time. I was looking foreword to him coming back to Nashville . I had sent him a message maybe a month or so before he died and he said he was planning on coming back.

I learned so much after Zack died about his glory days (I NEVER KNEW any of the famous stuff I just knew he was ZACK) & about his family. I got to meet his son. Josh has his father’s eyes.

I wrote the note below on the day I found out he died.
I added a photo of Zack and I at a writers night taken last year, probably the last time we played together.

Zack
I know heavens gain is our loss. It was a privilege to have known you to watch you and to learn from you. Not just about music but about LIFE and FRIENDSHIP and LOVE. It will be quiet on earth but I can hear that guitar in heaven playing loud and clear all these years you were just practicing for the big GIG, see you on the other side brother.
